St. Petersburg is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and St. Petersburg follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. I have a pair of vintage JBL L-7 tower speakers that I bought back in 1994. They have been a great pair for the past three decades and I want to keep them forever. The right speaker started making a cracking sound out of the 12" woofer every time a bass note hit so I spoke with Simply Speakers and purchased the recommended kit along with the adhesive kit. It arrived two days later neatly packaged with directions on the full re-coning procedure. I took my time on cleaning the old speaker and followed the easy-to-follow directions and after several hours was completely amazed to find the woofer has a lot more kick to it than the left speaker's woofer. I am seriously considering re-coning the other woofer (even though it works great) just to get the "new-like" sound. I have read forums that say a re-coned speaker never sounds as good as a factory speaker, but I disagree. If you take your time and think things through you should have a "good as new" speaker that you can feel proud of. As far as the crew at Simply Speakers is concerned; they are professional from the time of contact until the kit arrives at your house. I will for sure be using them in the future for all my spea

Sean and his team have great recone kits and are willing to help you out when you have questions or concerns. They got me through my first recone job that didn’t exactly go as planned and now I look forward to the next time we loose a Sub and have to recone it. I know where I will be ordering my parts from and will also recommend simply speakers to others in need of speaker repair too.

I'm a long time audio head...from the late 90's. Over the years I've had my share of all brands of speakers...each with different technologies that claim to be the best of their time. One thing that no technology can beat is "Father Time". The rubber or foam surround on speakers WILL inevitably deteriorate and/or dry rot...making the speakers useless. This brings us to a major crossroads of replace VS repair and... is one decision better over the other. Is it even worth the time, money and trouble. I have the answer you're looking for: SIMPLY SPEAKERS They have you covered for 90% of your speaker needs. I've learned to not be as wasteful as I once was many decades ago. Quality Subwoofers are very...very expensive and many of them are not easy to replace if on a budget, which let's be honest - lots of us are on a budget no matter your financial situation. Simply Speakers have tons of reviews with positive responses...this is for good reason. They sell great products for repairs of all types of speakers and at a fair price. I have two(2) 12" JL Audio W3V2 subs. NEW those things cost me close to $300 each....people that's $600 for subs. Granted they are over 10yrs old,

I had a pair of vintage tower speakers with 12" woofers, a mid and twitter, I decided to replace them, but I went to places to compared the sound and I though 2 new style towers with 8" woofers don't sound that much better, plus it would cost me a lot more, I personally like the old style with the 12" woofer, you don't see those any more, is like they were the style of the 70's and 80's the towers now are all 8" woofers, so I decided to just replaced the speakers, themselves not the box, and found simply speakers online Tom was very helpful and I asked for the best replacement speakers for what I had as my receiver, and sent pictures, got the same type size but much better speakers and magnets than the old ones, I had to cut the boxes a bit, and replace a few clip connectors, I soldered the clips to the wires for better connection, and the sound I'm getting is way better, I'm very happy with the end result and the cost was much cheaper including shipping, I even compared the sound to other high end tower speakers that cost 1500 each like bowers and wilkens at best buy, but I don't see the difference. they have a much richer deep bass response than the old ones.

I have used both repair kits Simple Speakers sells (foam and cloth), plus a cloth kit sold with from another vendor with different glue. Here are my thoughts. Number one - Cloth surrounds are worth the extra money on every level vs foam. Cloth surrounds are easier to use with a better fit and pliability which gives a cleaner result in less time. Cloth surrounds are of course more expensive but only marginally considering they last a lifetime. I have done a lot of 901 surrounds and it's kind of a big job prepping 18 speakers per set. I don't know about you but the time it takes me to clean and prep 18 speakers is roughly 75% of the job. It usually takes me all day to do a set of 901s so why would I ever want to make it harder or more time consuming by using the foam surrounds? The answer brings me to my second point - Sadly I didn't know any better. I initially thought the series III -V needed the foam surrounds since that it what they came with - wrong! The cloth surrounds work on all Bose 901s regardless of the series and are the best choice. If you are considering buying the foam because your 901s came with foam don't. Buy the cloth they are so much better and easier to inst
